    Violet

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Bulldog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Bulldog / Terrier (short coat). Violet is a very special pup. Even though she has been through so much in her short life, she still has so much love to give and she is definitely willing to share. She enjoys playing outside and loves kids. She can be a little exhuberant so would do best in a home with older children. She would love an active family and a backyard. Looking for a running partner? She is your girl. She is equally happy curled up next to you hanging out. Although good with dogs, she would need slow introductions and a meet prior to adoption would be required. She likes to be queen of her household. You will want to meet this sweet girl. She is a real charmer.

    Breed: Bulldog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: English Bulldog (short coat). Adoption Fee: 400.00. Name: Matilda Age: DOB Approx. 1/1/15 Gender: Female Breed: English Bulldog Weight: 42 Dog friendly: Yes but is a resource guarder. Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes, 10+ House Trained: On a schedule. Crate Trained: Yes Energy level: Moderate History: Pulled from an animal control Adoption Fee: $400.00 From the Foster: Meet sweet mama Matilda! She’s your typical stubborn dominant queen B(ulldog). Matilda is definitely a diva and likes all of the attention on her - with a face like she has, she's used to being the main focus :) Matilda does well with our resident male bulldog, however, she does snap at him occasionally when he gets too excited around her and when he gets too close in her personal space. Th ey always do great outside together since it’s a neutral territory. She will play and cuddle with him on her own terms - she loves to chase him around and play follow the leader. But, even though she can co-exist with another dog, Matilda will do best - and be happiest - in a home without them. She doesn't hate other dogs, but they don't bring her comfort or enjoyment, and she is a resource guarder with them. She's never hurt another dog but she does snap and growl over food, toys, attention - you name it - and since she's a big girl, its l oud and alarming, even if not causing any damage. And what Queen Matilda wants, Queen Matilda gets. So - please only apply if you want Q. Matilda to be your one and only girl in the house :) She's done well with older respectful children, but she shouldn't be in a home where kids wont respect her space. Just like with other dogs, she's never hurt anyone but has been known to get growly if she's bugged too much or wants people to know this is her spot. Matilda has eye drops and is prone to allergies and skin infections, so will need some daily / weekly maintenance to stay healthy and comfortable. She definitely needs a bully experienced home that will commit to working with her, keep her comfortable with her costly typical bulldog health issues, and give her the home that she truly deserves. Matilda loves being around people and getting scratched and rubbed, cuddling on the couch, going for nice short distance walks (but taking her time to sniff everything out), sunbathing, enjoying treats, snoozing in her bed, and being a queen. She’s a very easy going gal that would love a mellow and quiet home, and just wants to be loved. She’s such a sweet mama that just wants to find her perfect forever family.

    Tiger Lily

    rescue
    Breed: Bulldog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: English Bulldog. Thank you for stopping by to see me! Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting. If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** FUN CITY DOGS- Sat, June 9 12:30pm - 2:30pm - 2213 Snelling Ave, Minneapolis, MN DOB: 6/23/14 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Yes Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Tiger Lily is new to our rescue. She is about 4 years old and 40 pounds. Tiger Lily is a happy, energetic girl who loves to run and chase after her toys. She is confident that she should always be in your lap when not cruising around for her toys. She is an affectionate girl who is blossoming in her foster home. She is potty trained on schedule, crate trained, and working on her leash training. She is good with other dogs in her home, but would also be okay as an only dog with her people around her often. Tiger Lily has not been tested around young children, but we see no issues with that aside from her being a happy, bouncy 40 pound bulldog who could knock your children over. Tiger Lily got the works at her recent vet appointment: entropian eye surgery, nare widening, and soft palate shortening. These are common surgeries in the English Bulldog breed to improve her quality of life. With that said, Tiger Lily may need eye drops life long and she will always be a bracycephalic breed. The surgeries reduce the risk of breathing issues, but does not cure the problem. She will appreciate air conditioning and walks in the cool of the afternoon. While breed experience is not required, please research the breed to understand these conditions. English Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to rescue, own, and maintain. It is estimated that the average Bulldog owner spends $2,000 annually on vet needs. Tiger Lily's adoption fee reflects these three surgeries plus her dental and spay. Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Norman

    rescue
    Breed: Bulldog
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: English Bulldog / Catahoula Leopard Dog. Norman's stunning blue eyes have a message for his human friends: He loves and trusts them and is so happy that they've chosen him to hang out with! Norman is an affectionate, sweet soul whose favorite activities are anything that includes getting pets. He'll lean into your legs to get some, and if you scratch his ears, he'll lean his head even harder into your hand to soak up the love. This boy just can't get enough affection! Norman enjoys getting his energy out too. He usually starts off a play session doing zoomies to blow off some steam, then onto a game of fetch. He's not always so great at bringing the ball back, but he's super excited to run after it. And he LOVES to hang out in the kiddie pool. Norman doesn't play much in the water, but he loves to just lounge in it. He'll even take his tennis ball into the pool and chill in the water chewing on it. Norman checks all the boxes: Loving. Sweet. Funny. Adorable. Affectionate. Trusting. He's also house and crate-trained, knows "sit", walks well on leash, and he's in APA!'s Total Obedience Program. The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Norman has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help him learn the skills to become the best dog he can be! Norman is learning skills like sit and down, walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," and coming when called. Once Norman successfully completes all the skills on his training plan he will be considered TOP Dog Ready! Norman is working hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Norman after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Check out a video on APA's CGC program, on which the TOP was based: https://vimeo.com/89434193 We cannot overemphasize how sweet Norman is. He doesn't care who you are or what's going on, he just wants you to know that he loves you and is thankful to spend time with you, preferably in exchange for some pets and scratches. Norman would love a home with people who will spend lots of time with him and in return, he'll let them know they are loved unconditionally. Come meet this amazing pup!

Posted Breed: Bulldog (short coat). Meet Doug, an Olde English Bulldog! Olde English are a mix of American Bulldog and English bulldogs. Doug is shaped like a tank but moves like a torpedo! Look out, this guy is fast and when he runs laps around the yard! He's only a year and a half so he has the energy of a pup. He loves to play with his toys, go for walks, get treats, and pets on the head and belly. Doug is potty trained and sleeps in a crate at night. He knows commands like sit, stay, down, paw, speak, heel and is easy to walk on a harness. Doug is smart and learns quick. He likes to chase cats and gets excitable and playful around his sister foster dogs crate. Doug needs proper introductions and would be best suited in a home that is experienced with the breed.

She is about 6 years old and 59 pounds. Larette is a happy, happy girl who loves other dogs and all people. Due to Larette's size, a family with young children needs to understand that Larette may knock the child over as she is a happy girl and loves her people! Larette is potty trained on a schedule, crate trained, and loves going on a (short) walk on leash. Larette can not have a blanket in her kennel or she will potty on that, but she is happy without anything in her kennel. Larette is growing to love toys, but her forever family needs to be cautious with soft toys to ensure she does not swallow any in her excitement. Larette would love a family that would take her to obedience classes as she is very eager to please and is also a smart girl! Larette was rescued and was grossly overweight. She is getting down to a healthy weight, but her forever family needs to work on getting her down a few more pounds and maintain a healthy weight. Roxie

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Bulldog
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Bulldog (short coat). **Roxie is a courtesy listing for another rescuer. If interested in adopting Roxie, please submit an application on our web site at www.socorescue.com.** To say that Roxie has had a hard life would be an understatement. Homeless, she found herself living at a local dumpster site. On a daily basis she would dig through the trash to try and find enough food to feed not only herself but also her two very young puppies that were with her. Needless to say what few morsels she did find were not abundant and most certainly not healthy meals for her or her babies and all three were facing starvation not to mention contracting some deadly disease. Life was looking pretty bleak for Roxie and her babies. But then an angel came into Roxie's life when a very compassionate lady happened across her. From that initial meeting Roxie was more than willing to show how friendly she was towards people, giving no resistance to the help that this lady was offering to her and her pups. The trio were taken into this lady's home, nursed back to health and homes for Roxie's babies were quickly found. Roxie apparently understood what this woman had done for her and her pups and expressed her appreciation by being extremely loyal and affectionate towards everyone that she met. Roxie began to enjoy life once again, loving to play with the doggy toys she was given and even finding time to just lounge around in her favorite chair. She has served very well as a protector, friend and companion at her current foster home, doing very well while living as an inside dog. But apparently Roxie's time as a stray, when she had to compete for every morsel of food, left her not so friendly towards most other dogs. During her time with her current foster mom, Roxie has been accepting towards a few of the other dogs at the home but, overall, she just isn't very sociable towards most other dogs. It's because of this one negative trait that we think Roxie would be best living as an only dog. Roxie has now received an update on all of her yearly vaccinations, been spay and even recently tested negative for heartworms. While her life has definitely improved, she still lacks the one thing that she desires most-a home of her own. If you can offer Roxie the home that she deserves and help her complete her life, please submit an application at socorescue.com. We will discuss her special adoption fee after your application has been approved. A home visit to see how and where Roxie would live is required.
