    Dazee *SENIO...

    rescue
    Breed: Boxer
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: $107.25 includes MN sales tax. 5/7/18 *update* Dazee has healed well from her MCT surgery and is doing great. Dazee likes leading a relaxed life, she's super low maintenance, just wants to snuggle on the couch, get belly rubs, and prefers occasional walks vs walks every day. She'd love a quiet home to settle in to. I've been told she looks pretty big in her pics but she's not a big girl. She's around 58lbs after coming into rescue about 10lbs under weight, I think we've found her fighting weight now. She's a compact girl though, doesn't stand very tall despite her big paws! She's very comfortable with us now and is 100% potty trained. She does very well in her kennel and also did good when I did a trial run leaving them both out while I ran some errands so she could be left out once she's settled into the house. More often than not, I get home and have to wake her up as she's snoring away in her kennel. It's pretty cute! She's not interested in playtime yet but she's done well meeting new dogs when in our yard. She recently met two mini daschunds and did a good job with the introductions. Once she got brave enough they gave each other some polite sniffs and within 20 minutes she was snuggled up on the patio furniture with them sitting nicely next to her. She had no interest in chasing them so I think she'd do ok with cats too. As long as they respect boundaries and aren't too much in her face! She is a great girl and I can't wait for her to find her forever home with a cozy couch for her!! *Updated 4/10/18* Dazee is settling in quite nicely now and is a total sweetheart. She is scared/timid girl around new people, well new anything, so she needs some time whenever she’s put into a new situation or meeting new people to adjust. Walking Dazee is a bit interesting as while she doesn’t pull on the leash at all if she sees something new she will refuse to walk until she’s decided they aren’t scary. It can be a slow process taking her out, but we’ve been trying to build up some muscle as I don’t think she was ever really walked before. She’s finding some confidence with me and the resident boxer and she’s put on the majority of the 10lbs she needed to gain, so she’s looking much better these days. We get some boxer wiggles out of her almost every day now. Dazee has found her voice (blame my dog for that…) and joins him in the front window barking at any car, human or dog that dare walk within her view of the house. However, the instant someone pulls into the driveway and enters the house she does revert to her scared/timid ways. Dazee will sit quietly in the corner of the couch trying to decide if the new person is friend or foe. It’s clear she had a very rough first 8 years of life and building her trust does take time. Loud noises do startle her, she would do best in a quiet home with a fenced in yard as she will take off if startled outside. She does let new people approach her and pet her, but she will not approach them. Once she’s decided you’re not scary she will paw, for petting if you stop petting her even if she just met you! She has done well with the kids she’s met, she’s given out a few kisses when the neighbor kids say hi nicely to her, but she probably would do best in a home with limited interactions with small children as I think the noise level would be a bit much for her. She enjoys her time snuggling on the couch best so far. We’ve yet to find a toy she wants to play with but we’re still trying. She is missing most of her teeth so she’s on a soft food diet, but she can eat small crunchy treats. She’s done well with the resident boxer and a friend’s dog who spent a few days with us but, she is a bit of an alpha. Due to the lack of teeth she puts up a tough front to begin with, doing some growling to establish her boundaries. She would do best being the only female dog in a household. We have no idea how she would do around cats or very small dogs. A young, high energy dog, probably would be a bit too much for this senior gal in her retirement years. She is fully kennel trained (plastic kennel, wire kennels are a little scary for her) and we haven’t had a potty incident in several weeks now. She’s started to whine when she needs to go out, otherwise I let her out often just in case! Overall, Dazee is just a total sweetheart and is a very good girl. She will need a person/family who can be patient with her and allow her to warm up to them on her own time until she’s found her confidence and comfort level with them. If you’re looking for a calmer, older boxer she is it. A comfy couch to relax on and a person to snuggle up next to is all Dazee really wants for her forever home. 2/24 Update: Dazee is starting to settle in and grow more comfortable with the resident boxer and the visiting spaniel. She really is settling in and expecting regular meals which is good as we try to add some weight to her! Dazee just recently arrived from TX. Dazee is still getting settled and adjusted to her foster home and the resident male boxer. She can be a bit crabby, but does show signs of wanting to join in the fun. She is just very timid and unsure of all the new sights and sounds. Dazee's foster mom will be giving us an update in the near future.

    Linda *Needs...

    rescue
    Breed: Boxer
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: $374.94 including all applicable MN Sales Tax. We need a foster for one of our alumni’s Durga now known as Linda. Linda has a fabulous disposition and is very gentle with children, she loves to shake but isn’t big on fetch. Linda enjoys walks and has several favorite toys. Linda just received all her shots about a month ago, as well as a dental cleaning. Linda has an incontinence issues. She has been cleared of any medical issues but is not currently on any medications to try to correct the incontinence, which is something we will recommended trying to correct the issue. Her current family has young children and do not have the time to work with her or to but on diapers for her piddles. Her family feels that even with her piddle condition she would still make a great companion to an owner who has the time to meet her needs. ~Linda's Orignal bio~ And Durga is -- full of strength and power with energy to spare. She bonds quickly to her human family and will bark in protective mode when strangers come by ... but the whole time her tail is wagging in anticipation of attention. Durga is in a foster home with a male boxer mix and plays hard and fast with him. She loves to go for walks with the older kids in the home and she is very strong. A walking harness and some training would benefit Durga greatly. She is still in the early stages of learning her new home and foster family and can get startled easily at this point but that should all calm down once she has time to settle in.

    Izzy

    rescue
    Breed: Boxer
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: $168.71 includes MN sales tax. 5/10/18 Izzy had surgery to repair an torn ACL. She is recovering at her new foster home. Some words on Izzy from her short term foster. "She is very sweet and loving. She mostly followed me around the house last night. If she would venture off, she would come when I called her. From what I heard, she loves children. May do much better with large submissive male dog, but still slow introductions. She slept through the night in a crate next to my bed without a peep all night. She is crate trained. Also, the couple that had her, said they walked and ran with her. They were teaching her to ignore other dogs/animals when they were out. When I had her outside at my house, she would watch the dogs walk by on the path at the bottom of hill but did not chase down the hill. She is a smart girl." 3/11/18 Isabella (mostly called Izzy) wants three things in life: food, for her favorite toy to be thrown & tugged, and to curl up in a ball next to you with a blanket draped over her. She is a goofball and loves to fetch and tug, and will sit and stay with a treat on her nose for a very long time. One of her most favorite games is hide and go seek, although she only does the seeking. If you throw her favorite toy and promptly run away and hide, she will diligently search for you so that you may once again throw the toy. She will turn 7 in March, so she sleeps a bit more than she used to but needs a good amount of tug time all the same. She knows how to "sing" and can be encouraged to do so with the help of a broken toy squeaker or whistle. Izzy is a reverse or sealed-coat brindle with white flashing on her paws and chest. She has a beautiful coat and a trim, muscular figure. She is housebroken and crate-trained and walks well on a leash if there are no distractions present.

Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: $374.94 includes applicable MN sales tax. Hey everybody! My official name for the record is Destiny, but to tell the truth I do not really like that name. My nickname is Maple and I really prefer to be called that instead. I am getting used to my foster home and the big boy dog that lives there. I know he is the boss and I am okay with that. I am a little shy right now but it does not stop me from exploring and getting to know the people in the house. I would much rather be with people than to have to stay in the kennel, but I will do it if I have to because I am a good girl. I love to run and chase and play. My back legs are a little weak right now and I am going to visit the doggie doctor to see what is going on. My foster mom says I do not have a mean bone in my body. Bone? Did someone say bone?! 3/9/18 update from Destiny's foster mom. This young female boxer just wants to be loved. She enjoys her morning cuddles after breakfast & then again before retiring to her kennel at night. She has even befriended the household cat by respecting her space. She loves to go for walks & really enjoys wrestling & running with her dog park friends. She loves to play tug & ball with humans. She has favorite stuffed animals but Is AFRAID of the ones that squeek. She has had no formal training but is smart as a whip & eager to please. Destiny has settled in and is 90% housebroken.

Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Please contact melissa (melissa@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet. Hi, my name is Mack! I am 6 years old and weigh around 85 pounds. I am the gentle giant at my foster mom's house. I love to spend time with my humans, and I don't mind the other dogs in the house. I don't play with the other dogs much, but I like to know what they are doing! I like to be outside also, but prefer my human to be with me. I am very sweet and gentle (except when I try to lay on your lap!). I have allergies, but everything has been manageable for my foster mom. She has me on seafood protein dry dog food, which seems to help. The vet told me my coat is very pretty, so I am lookin' good! I am crate trained and housebroken. I am not interested in toys and am the quiet one of the house. My adoption fee is $250, which includes alter, microchipping, and vaccines. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an adoption application today at www.pawsandprayers.org.
